Immersive Art Week – 2015

In 2015 artist Vicky Holbrough worked with Ingleton Primary School, County Durham, immersing the whole school in the visual arts for a week. Using the Prize Exhibition as a starting point the pupils had a guided tour of the exhibition and chose one picture to use as their main inspiration.

Birds, feathers and printmaking became the focus for the week, as Vicky led them through a number of methods and techniques, before they set about creating a permanent artwork for their school.

“The week was brilliant. I wasn’t as good as I am now and it has inspired me to become an artist.”  – Sarah, pupil at Ingleton School.

“To think that every pupil has had a part in creating this work…. I am just going to say one word – wow!”  – Judith Pressley, Headteacher at Ingleton School.
