Our second artist in the spotlight is Mark Demsteader. Born and bred in Manchester, Mark still lives and works in the city. He studied at Rochdale College and Oldham College before and taking up a postgraduate position at the Slade School of Art in London. In a long and varied career, his drawing have won several awards including The Lyceum Prize.

His reputation has flourished, such that he has become one of the most popular figurative artists working in Britain today, with his models including the actress Emma Watson, the model Erin O’Connor and the ballet dancer Marianela Núñez.
