The paintings are hung and labelled (and looking great, even if we do say so ourselves!), tickets are selling like hot cakes and all is set for a memorable Private View next Thursday. As we begin our countdown to the evening itself, Chloë Holt is our final artist to be profiled.
The Swinton Foundation is a charitable trust that supports artists, entrepreneurs and communities in the Yorkshire Dales and surrounding area. As part of the Foundation’s work, Chloë has one work in the main exhibition and is showing a selection of her paintings in the Bar.
Chloë became the youngest artist ever to be elected a member of the Royal Cambrian Academy in 2012 and was shortlisted for the New Lights Exhibition in 2013. Since then, her career has gone from strength to strength, exhibiting in major shows around the UK. Often incorporating found objects and enclosed in reclaimed frames, her work evokes memories and the past, exploring the connections we make and the significance we attach to all manner of things over time.
Swinton Park will be sponsoring ‘The Swinton Foundation Prize’ at the New Lights Exhibition in 2015.
