Hester Cox is the first of the northern artists we will be showcasing over the coming days as we prepare for our Exhibition at Swinton Park which opens on Wednesday 18th June with a Private View on Thursday 26th June.

Hester specialises in designing original prints inspired by nature. From her studio on North Yorkshire, she creates collagraph and photopolymer plates which she often prints in layers to form a richly coloured and textured limited editi0n print.

Hester’s residency at Nidderdale Museum gave her access to the museum’s bird egg collection; she studied the migrating curlews that lay their eggs in the valley to create a body of work that went on display in 2011.

Hester also worked with the British and Yorkshire Museums to create a response to the Vale of York Viking Treasure Hoard. Her collection of prints were shown at the Mercer Art Gallery.
