The 2015 New Light Prize Exhibition opens for entries on 1st May 2015. This year, the Prize Exhibition is open to all Northern artists, regardless of age (as long as they are over 18) or stage in their career.

Our prizes this year include the £10,000 Valeria Sykes Award, £2,500 Patron’s Choice Award, the Swinton Foundation Prize to recognise the work of an emerging artist, a printmakers’ prize and a Visitors’ Choice Award.

Shortlisted work will be exhibited at the Bowes Museum in  County Durham from October 2015 to February 2016, before moving to the Mercer Gallery in Harrogate with a selection of the work being shown later in the year at the Panter and Hall Gallery in London.

Our judging panel comprises Norman Ackroyd, painter and printmaker; Lord Crathorne, Chairman of the All-Parliamentary Arts & Heritage Group; Laura Gascoigne, art reviewer on The Spectator; Matthew Hall, owner of Panter and Hall Gallery; and Annette Petchey, CEO of New Light.

The prizes will be awarded at the Private View on Friday 16th October.
