Hettie Inniss lives in Liverpool.

Hettie is interested in portraiture’s ability to create a space for us to investigate a subject’s identity beyond their physical attributes. Highlighting race, gender and religion’s inability to represent our character and individuality, despite how often these labels are used to define ourselves. Her work entitled ‘Father’ aims to represent her dad in his physical form but also his personality and presence when entering a room. Stating: ‘ I wanted this piece to ask the viewer, who is this person? How do they move through the world?’ She continues to develop her practice and study at the University of Leeds.
