Ian Robinson comes from Newbiggin-by-the-sea in the North East of England. He worked in the Oil & Gas Industry until moving to London in 2007. He then transferred to Wimbledon College of Art to study painting. He graduated in 2010 with 1st Class Honours.
His photo-realist work portrays objects such as books, records and ephemera, which behold properties that can define passions and hobbies. Capturing scenes that interest entire generations. Glorifying their physical accumulative presence and a physical relationship with collections.
Ian had his first solo show in 2011 following a Graduate Residence Program at Muse Gallery in Notting Hill and his next solo show is in his hometown in November 2020.
Ian has been shortlisted for a number of competitions since then. His studio is based in South East London.
