Matthew Lintott is an artist specialising in woodblock printmaking, based in Bristol.  His practice is focused on evaluating a modern connection to our surroundings by exploring our ancient relationship to nature.  His work aims to capture the spirit of a subject; seeking something unknown, beyond that of the recognised form.  His process begins with photography and drawing, then continues through to an experimental approach to relief printmaking.  This was born out of a fascination with the Japanese woodblock tradition.  Often printing by hand without the use of a printing press he incorporates drawn elements, intuitive mark making and found materials.
