Following a long career in the law, Maria is now a prolific creative. Primarily known for her plein air oil paintings, in 2023, Maria began using clay to express her more whimsical side at the Ouseburn pottery studio in Newcastle. This piece is a creation from this practice. A major muse in Maria’s work is her adorable standard poodle, Frankie. Frankie appears in this show in her chariot being hauled by her neighbourhood tormentors, the cats of Belmont.
