Beatrice Livesey

Spring in a Vase

Description

Oil on canvas
40cm x 50cm

Beatrice Livesey is a young self-taught artist who has been ardently immersed in the world of oil painting in the last few years, upon leaving school.

Residing in the Lake District, she has embarked on a self-guided artistic journey. Drawing inspiration from the natural world that surrounds her, she paints evocative still lifes, wildlife and contemporary portraits. She defines her distinctive style with a profound love for the deep contrasting colours and intricate patterns that are present in her paintings.

Beatrice believes that the stark contrast of shadows between the subject and the darkness that surrounds it heightens the intensity of the perceived.
