Steven Wood is a painter currently working and living in South Shields, Creating works in oils, watercolour and mixed media , with no formal training he gained his experience by experimentation and finding new techniques.

Over the years Steven has completed commissions for private collections and worked with interior designers, both in the UK and abroad, with canvases up to 8ft x 6ft, He has had various publications in e-books and with the WWF. He has taken part in many group exhibitions including The Royal Society of Portrait Painters , The Royal Society of British Artists annual exhibitions , The Baltic Art Gallery, The New Light Art Prize . He was the overall winner in the 56th Essex Open , best 3D in the 57TH Essex Open, Prize winner in The Richeson 75 International Portrait Prize USA and was awarded The Smallwood Architects Prize for Contextual Portraiture at The Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition 2020.

He is currently exhibiting in The Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition 2023.
