Justin Leeming

THIEF

Description

Acrylic on canvas
90cm x 60cm

Justin Leeming is a figurative painter, working primarily in acrylic on canvas. He studied Fine Art Painting and Printmaking at Leicester Polytechnic and has worked for 30 years in the design and print industry.

He has continued to paint in his spare time and exhibited his artwork in both Saltaire and Ilkley Art Trails, The Bradford Open at Cartwright Hall and also at the Haworth Art Gallery in Accrington.

“‘THIEF’ was inspired by an incident on a family summer holiday on the Thanet Coast, when a large gull stole a four fingered, foil wrapped Kit-Kat out of my daughter’s hand.

It’s not a condemnation, but a celebration of these magnificent creatures which are doing their best to survive in a world where food is scarce and their habitat under threat.”
