Weaving Demonstration & Try your hand at the loom 

‘Fox On The Sley’ known as David Fox, is a freelance hand weaver and artist his studio based in Red Lane Studios at Sunny Bank Mills in Farsley. His practice and work are a range of art and installation works and more commercial woven textiles which he sells at fairs and markets. His textiles are inspired by the archive and site of Sunny Bank Mills as well as our general heritage, exploring themes of memory, connection, and mill workers. He weaves on various table looms and a George Wood floor loom. Within his weaves he plays around with various techniques and yarn types from paper, steel mixes, cotton, silk, and wool.

David Fox is demonstrating on his two table looms, two different techniques a single cloth and double cloth fabric. The weaves created in this collection are based on the New Light Summer exhibition, playing around with the yarns David uses in his work. Feel free to have a go and David will happily get you up and running and show you how to weave!
