Clare is a contemporary painter using acrylics, watercolour and collaged antique and decorative papers. She enjoys the process of recycling discarded documents and manuals into abstract mixed media backgrounds to help represent the people she paints in a fresh, unconventional way. She is drawn to unposed individuals and groups interacting with each other and their surroundings from unusual vantage points. She is a member of the Farnham Art Society with whom she regularly exhibits. She enjoys taking commissions for uncontrived family portraits in this style.

Clare has an MA Fine Art degree from the University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh College of Art. She worked in an art consultancy for 7 years in London before moving out to Surrey with her family and focusing on her own painting practice.
