Kirsty Whyatt is a self-taught painter specialising in atmospheric landscapes of Northern England. Nocturnes are frequently painted as she is drawn to strong contrasts, creating chinks of light cutting through the darkness. Originally from Saddleworth, she grew up fascinated by the vast views over Greater Manchester and the Peak District. After studying Museum and Exhibition design at Humberside university she moved to Manchester, beginning her career as an interiors stylist for commercial photographers. Kirsty began her painting career alongside styling after moving to Leeds and creating a small garden studio in 2017.
