I am a Wirral based artist  but I was born in North Wales. Growing up on the edge of an ancient woodland and the Welsh mountain Zoo I would hear the cries of animals and birds through the night that fed my creative imagination and filled my dreams.

After studying Illustration I worked as a fashion and children’s book illustrator for many years alongside lecturing in art.

My sculpture, drawings and paintings are inspired by wildlife and folklore. Merging inspiration from the Mabinogion and my imagination I create my pieces by working spontaneously and intuitively giving them life and energy.

I have won prizes for my artworks, winning The Kriterion Award at the Williamson Art Gallery. I have exhibited in numerous exhibitions and my work is held in many private collections.

The inspiration for my sculpture came from Celtic folklore tales known as the Mabinogoion which led to the creation of the Welsh mythical figure Rhiannon.

Rhiannon is the Welsh  Goddess of horses and the otherworld and has 3 magical birds whose song can wake the dead.

She was wrongly accused of killing her son but she had the ability to transcend injustice and maintain compassion.
