New Light Artist Survey 2024

We want to improve how we deliver the Prize Exhibition. Please help us by filling in this form – it should take between 5 and 10 minutes. We want to hear from those who have been shortlisted, those who have not and those who have never entered. In order to implement any changes to the next Prize Tour, your prompt response would be much appreciated.

We are interested in artists' views/experiences of New Light Prize Exhibitions between 2011 and 2024. Please tick any that apply:
As a charity, we need to charge an entry fee to cover costs. Currently, it is £20 for the 1st artwork, £20 for a 2nd artwork, £10 for any subsequent entries. (i.e. if you enter 3 artworks = £50). Do you feel that this a reasonable charge?
The current criteria for entering asks that entrants are either born, or currently live, or have been educated (in a visual arts-related degree) in the North of England (Cheshire, Cumbria, Durham, Lancashire, Northumberland, Yorkshire). Do you think that this is:
Which do you consider important to include in a New Light Exhibition tour?
New Light covers the cost of transporting artworks between galleries. Artists are only required to deliver their artwork to the first gallery and collect it from the last one (if unsold). Do transport costs affect your decision to enter?
If New Light was to launch the Prize Exhibition in a London venue, would transport costs affect your decision to enter?
Is a large cash prize more or less appealing then several smaller prizes?
