Moving interchangeably through drawing, painting, collage and sculpture, multi-disciplinary artist Diana Terry’s work explores the narrative between humanity and the natural environment.
She has work in national and international public and private collections. Terry currently lives in Saddleworth near the Peak District National Park, a vast area of geologically significant moorland and natural resources.
Diana says:
‘I have always responded to things that were done in earlier civilisations that seemed to have less elaboration and more strength.
My work in this sculpture exhibition is part of a series of pieces related to my travels in Greece, Italy, India, Egypt, Borneo, Malaysia and Singapore. These experiences allowed me to develop, select and separate objects which triggered a response of affinity. I often want to emphasise the natural state of the materials enjoying composing with little intervention to the material’.
