M. John Angel was born in Manchester in 1946 and studied art under Pietro Annigoni.
M. John moved permanently to Italy and has been the Director of Studies and senior instructor for the last 20 years at the Angel Academy of Art in Florence, which he co-founded in 1997.
The Poet (Emmanuelle) was shortlisted for the New Light Prize in 2017-18
